To run Facebook Ads for your supermarket or store, AdScale creates a dedicated Facebook ad account. In some cases, this is under your existing Business Manager on Facebook.
This might cause your Business Manager to reach its ad account limit, stopping you from creating new advertisements.
Causes of Facebook Ads Limitation
There are usually a few issues that cause this error:
1: You are limited to 1 account
Check if there is an unused account. If so, you can simply remove it to solve this error.
2: You need a payment method on your existing ad account
Check if you have entered a valid form of payment. If not, simply add a valid form of payment to your existing ad account to solve this issue.
You need to pay for your existing ad account
Check if you have an existing ad account that might require payment. Sometimes an initial payment (as little as $1) may be required before you can increase the ad account limit.
How do you check if you have reached your ad account limit?
View Your Ad Account Limit in Business Manager
For safety and security reasons, your business is only allowed to create a certain number of ad accounts.
To view your ad account limit in Business Manager:
- Go to Business Settings.
- Click Business Info.
- Below Business Options, look for Ad Account Creation Limit.
Once you solve this issue, please report back to Facebook so they can retry creating your Facebook campaigns.
Best Practices for Ad Account Permissions
You can manage ad account permissions from your ad account settings in Ads Manager, or, if you use Business Manager, from your Business Settings.
From Ad Account Settings in Ads Manager
You can manage permissions for each ad account you own in ad account settings in Ads Manager.
From Business Settings
If you’ve given people permissions to your ad account from your ad account settings in Ads Manager, but your ad account is also connected to a Business Manager, you won’t be able to edit permissions from ad account settings in Ads Manager.
Once your ad account has been added to your Business Manager, you can change user permissions only from Business Settings. If you’d like to change permissions previously given in ad account settings in Ads Manager, add the person whose permissions you want to change to your Business Manager, then edit permissions in the Users section of Business Settings.
Note: If you’d like to be removed from an ad account you created, you’ll need to use the Business Manager. Add the ad account you created to a Business Manager and then any admin in the Business Manager can remove you from the ad account.
